Almost half of all child deaths in Europe are car-related, the National Safety Council claimed today as it launched a DVD on child safety in cars.

Almost half of all child deaths in Europe are car-related, the National Safety Council claimed today as it launched a DVD on child safety in cars.

Alan Richardson, acting chief executive of the council, said the greatest risk children were exposed to on a daily basis was when travelling as a passenger in a car, and that 48% of child deaths in the EU involved a car.
