FG slams govt handling of new EU waste directive

Fine Gael has added its voice to criticism of the Government's handling of a new EU directive on the disposal of old electrical goods.

The WEEE directive, which came into force in Ireland at the weekend, obliges producers to take responsibility for disposing of used appliances like washing machines and fridges.
