DUP planning EU challenge to PSNI recruitment policy

The Democratic Unionist Party is planning to mount a European challenge against the PSNI's 50:50 Protestant-Catholic recruitment policy.

The measure was introduced as part of the Patten policing reforms in an effort to speed up the integration of Catholics into the overwhelmingly Protestant police force.
