Two hospitalised after fire at Galway apartment

Two men are recovering in hospital in Galway following a fire at an apartment in the city early this morning.

Neighbours raised the alarm shortly after 7am when they witnessed smoke coming from the flat in the Shantalla area of the city.

The injured men, both in their 20s, were taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation, while the apartment was extensively damaged in the blaze.
