Woman due in court in relation to death of Polish toddler

A woman in her 30s is due to appear in court in Tralee later today in connection with the death of a three-year-old girl in the Co Kerry town last week.

The child, whose parents are Polish, died in hospital last Friday after being admitted two days earlier with serious head injuries.

The girl sustained the injuries during an incident at her family home in the Oakpark area of Tralee, but the results of a post mortem on her body have not been made public.

The woman due in court today was arrested yesterday on suspicion of causing harm to the child.
