McDowell hoping to establish DNA database

Justice Minister Michael McDowell is reportedly planning to have a national DNA database up and running by early next year.

Reports this morning said Mr McDowell was due to receive a report from the Law Reform Commission later this year on what safeguards should be built into the system.
