Last patients removed from Leas Cross
The last patients are being moved from Leas Cross nursing home in North Dublin this weekend.
The controversial facility is to close its doors on Monday.
Last month the Health Service Executive said it planned to withdraw all public patients from Leas Cross nursing home because the facility was breaching regulations.
The centre had become the focus of media and political attention following an RTE ‘Prime Time’ investigation into standards of care.
Earlier this month the home's owner John Aherne decided to close the facility, claiming it could no longer operate.
By yesterday just 11 of the centre's 90 patients remained, these people are due to leave either today or tomorrow and the HSE says it's staff will work with residents and families over the weekend.
