ESB fails to convince regulator of need for 10% price rise

ESB customers are reportedly facing a further 2.5% increase in their bills next January, around one-quarter of what the company had been seeking to meet rising fuel costs.

Every year, the ESB presents evidence of its costs to the Commission for Energy Regulation, which then decides what increase to award.
