SF: Meath people being overcharged for council houses
Sinn Féin has accused Meath County Council of overcharging people who wish their buy their local authority houses.
Local Sinn Féin councillor Joe Reilly said the overcharging was arising when people wished to buy council houses they received under a special rural housing scheme.
Under the scheme, the householder provides the site and the council builds the house.
However, Mr Reilly said Meath County Council was taking the value of the land into account when the householders inquired about buying out the property.
