Parents’ guide to mobile phone use launched

Parents were being warned this afternoon to keep on eye on their children's mobile phones.

Parents were being warned this afternoon to keep on eye on their children's mobile phones.

It is hoped a new reference guide for adults launched today by the Irish Cellular Industry Association will help mobile users deal with unsolicited communications.

A spokesperson for the Cellular Industry Association said malicious text messages and disturbing pictures were often received by young children without their parents’ knowledge.

"What this guide does is explain the different types of materials that you can access, and the different types of information that's available," she said.
