Travel agents report few cancellations after Turkish bomb
The Irish Travel Agents Association has reported only a small number of cancellations following the death of Irish girl Tara Whelan in a bomb attack in Turkey at the weekend.
The ITAA also said today that it agreed with the Department of Foreign Affairs' decision not to issue an advisory warning against travel to Turkey.
It said security had been boosted in Turkey since Saturday's bombing, which claimed the life of Co Waterford teenager Tara Whelan and four other tourists.
Foreign Affairs Minister Dermot Ahern is due to seek further assurances on security during a meeting with his Turkish counterpart in Ankara this afternoon.
