Union urges prison officers to accept pay deal

The Irish Prison Officers' Association advised its members this afternoon to accept the revised overtime deal.

A ballot of all prison officers is to be held shortly in a bid to bring the dispute to an end.

Minister for Justice Michael McDowell had warned the POA he would privatise the prison escort service if agreement was not reached soon.
