Water back on for north Dublin residents

Water supplies will be restored to thousands of residents in north Dublin this morning after many were cut off for 24 hours.

The loss in supply was due to major upgrading work at the main reservoir at Ballycoolen.

Areas affected extend from Howth, Kilbarrack, Artane and Darndale to Skerries, Swords, Malahide and Balbriggan.

Fourteen water tankers were made available by Dublin City and Fingal County Councils to minimise the effect on consumers.
