A leading estate agency has accused local authorities in Dublin of underestimating the future demand for new homes in the capital.

Hooke and MacDonald is warning demand will be significantly higher than expected and the supply of residentially zoned land in central Dublin will be exhausted by 2012.

The company says this, in turn, will put additional pressure on the South Dublin and Fingal areas.
