HSE finds several nursing homes 'unsuitable'
Inspectors from the Health Service Executive have reportedly some nursing homes in the east of the country unsuitable to house patients.
Reports this morning said inspectors seeking alternative beds for people being moved out of Leas Cross in north Co Dublin had deemed "six or seven" of the homes examined could not be recommended.
Fine Gael TD Fergus O'Dowd said the Government had to make sure that no patients were living in unsuitable accommodation.
"There are people in these nursing homes and if they are not good for patients in Leas Cross, they are not good enough for anybody. It's as simple as that," he said.
