NI urged to back London's Olympic bid

Northern Ireland must row in behind London’s bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games to help boost the local economy, it was claimed today.

As crews from Queen’s University Belfast and Trinity College Dublin prepared to race the River Lagan, Secretary of State Peter Hain said the regions had a key role to play ensuring the games came to the United Kingdom.
