Irish football legend George Best was arrested today after an allegation of assault.

Best walked into Staines police station in Surrey at lunchtime to be interviewed about an allegation brought by Vicky Pope that he attacked her as she tried to stop him getting into his ex-lover Gina Devivo’s home in Ewell, Surrey, on Tuesday.
