Bank Holiday Fridays ‘are worst days for road crashes’

The Fridays before bank holiday weekends are the worst days for accidents on Ireland's roads, according to a study conducted by the Hibernian insurance firm.

The examination of the company's claims records highlighted a 35% increase in road accidents on the day leading into a bank holiday weekend, when traffic levels are traditionally higher.
