Tribunals could cost close to €1bn

A powerful Dáil committee is warning that the current batch of tribunals could end up costing the taxpayer close to €1bn.

In its second interim report, the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee also says more people should be prosecuted in the courts for tax evasion to demonstrate that there is a real will to tackle the problem.
