Dublin Airport landing charges may increase by up to 40%

The Commission for Aviation Regulation has announced plans to increase landing charges at Dublin Airport by up to 40% from January of next year.

The airport levies landing charges of €5.09 per passenger, but the commission said today that this could be raised to €7.05 per passenger to meet the cost of building a second terminal.

Commission chairman Bill Prafiska today proposed four new charging regimes for the period from January 2006 to December 2010 which could see future charges rise to €5.12, €5.94, €6.57 or €7.05.

The charges to eventually be imposed will depend on aviation traffic and building costs, among other factors.
