Belfast: Man dies after crash involving stolen vehicle
A man has died and two others have been critically injured in a multiple-vehicle road accident involving a stolen car in south Belfast last night.
The PSNI is investigating the circumstances of the crash, but the dead man is believed to have been a passenger in a car that had been hijacked less than an hour earlier in Belfast city centre.
It had also apparently been used in a robbery at a filling station in Newtownabbey.
Police have been focusing on tackling car crime in Belfast, but said they were not chasing the stolen car involved in yesterday's pile-up, which happened at around 8pm on Boucher Road.
They have informed the Police Ombudsman of the matter, however.
A total of six cars, including a taxi, were involved in the collision.
The dead man and both injured parties are believed to be in their late teens and early 20s.
