Brennan warns about illegal money lenders

The Minister for Social and Family Affairs has appealed to the less well off to stay away from illegal money lenders.

Seamus Brennan told the Dáil that people should be reminded there are only 50 legal money lenders in the State.

He said the law will deal with money lenders who operate outside the law. In some cases, illegal money lenders are charging up to 23% in interest.
