Farming women march to demand social welfare entitlements
Hundreds of female farmers have marched on the Department of Finance to demand recognition of their work under the social welfare scheme.
The Irish Farmers Association has claimed that most farming women have no social welfare or pension entitlements, despite years of working on family farms.
Speaking during today's march, Mary McGreal from the National Women's Council, which was also involved in the protest, said women working in other family businesses faced similar situations.
