AA welcomes move to tackle driving test backlog

The AA has welcomed news that the Government is planning a package of measures to reduce the backlog of learner drivers waiting for full licences.

Reports this morning said Transport Minister Martin Cullen was planning to hire a private company to run the tests at centres throughout the country in tandem with existing state testers.
