Food safety body issues warning about illegal colorant

The Food Safety Authority has issued a new alert about food products containing an illegal food colorant that may cause cancer.

The authority said today that the Para Red industrial dye had been found in a number of foodstuffs in the UK and it was working to ensure these products were removed from Irish shelves.
