Quarter of teacher-training places may be reserved for men

Government officials are reportedly considering proposals that would see one-quarter of all teacher-training places reserved for male students.

Reports this morning said the move was under consideration by a committee set up to advise Education Minister Mary Hanafin on how to combat the increasing feminisation of the teaching profession.
