An organiser behind today's May Day labour march is not expecting any of the chaos and violence that marred last year's event.

Last year 29 people were charged with public order offences during the Mayday EU enlargement celebrations in Dublin.

Sam Nolan of the Dublin Council of Trade Unions said that the theme of today's march is the "plight of migrant workers in Ireland, who are being treated unfairly".
