Luas service gets back on track
Normal service resumed on Dublin’s Luas Green Line after 9am this morning after more than three hours’ disruption due to an overnight derailment.
Operators Connex said an internal investigation is being carried out into how a tram was derailed during a planned manoeuvre at its Sandyford depot at 4am.
“A team of engineers are examining what happened,” said a spokesman.
The Luas tickets of approximately 7,000 passengers who normally use the morning service from Sandyford to St Stephen’s Green were valid on Dublin Bus services.
