Body of third Irish tsunami victim identified in Thailand

The body of a Dublin woman who has been missing since the St Stephen’s Day tsunami disaster in the Indian Ocean has reportedly been identified in Thailand.

Reports this morning said the body of 28-year-old Lucy Coyle, from Killiney, was identified using DNA and dental records taken to Thailand by gardaí.

Ms Coyle, who lived in Britain, is the third Irish person confirmed dead in the tsunami.

She had been holidaying in a resort of the island of Phi Phi with her Welsh boyfriend when the giant tidal wave struck on December 26.
