Irishman's death in Thailand confirmed

The death of a young Irishman in Thailand has been confirmed by the Department of Foreign Affairs.

It is believed the man is in his 20s and from the east Meath area.

Thai police are also investigating his death.

Irish authorities say they are in contact with embassy officials in neighbouring Malaysia.
