Defence counsel for a garda accused of assaulting a "Reclaim the Streets" protester in 2002, has told the man his client will testify that he saw him with his hand to the throat of another garda.

Garda Paul Tallon of Mountjoy Garda Station has pleaded not guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to assault causing harm to Mr Fergal Leddy on May 6, 2002.
