The deputy leader of the Democratic Unionist Party has said his party will never share power under any system that automatically entitles republicans to ministerial positions.

Speaking to the launch of his party’s general election campaign in Co Down, last night, Peter Robinson also dismissed Gerry Adams' appeal for the IRA to stand down as a cynical election trick.

He also said the DUP had set a new standard for power-sharing, including complete decommissioning with witnesses and photographs and a testing period to ensure all IRA activity had ended.
