The body set up to distribute money left in dormant bank accounts in Ireland has announced grant allocations totalling €5.6m to a range of organisations.

The body set up to distribute money left in dormant bank accounts in Ireland has announced grant allocations totalling €5.6m to a range of organisations.

A total of 21 groups and projects working with the most disadvantaged members of Irish society are set to benefit from the money.

The Dormant Accounts Fund Disbursements Board was established in 2002 to distribute money from bank and building society accounts that have not been touched for several years.
