Irish Red Cross seeks personnel for tsunami projects

The Irish Red Cross has appealed for personnel with particular skills to work on reconstruction projects in countries affected by the south Asian tsunami.

The charity said it was looking for medical staff, project managers and construction experts to help reconstruction efforts in Sri Lanka and Indonesia, the two countries worst-affected by the disaster.

The organisation said it raised €27m in donations in the wake of the December 26 tsunami and this was being spent on a range of projects, including the construction of hospitals, housing, water services and sewage systems.
