Polling stations have closed in the country's seven Gaeltacht areas where voters are choosing a fresh panel of representatives for Údarás na Gaeltachta.

The fine weather has boosted turnout, especially in the biggest constituency, Galway, where around 30% came out to vote.

There are 17 positions up for grabs on the board of Údarás, which promotes the Irish language and oversees the economic welfare of Gaeltacht areas.
