NSC: 'Number of road deaths up 8% so far this year'

The number of people killed on the roads so far this year is up 8% on the same period last year, according to the National Safety Council.

The council said 100 people had been killed in road accidents so far in 2005, compared to 93 in the first three months of 2004.
