Many toys sold in Ireland do not meet EU safety standards - study
A significant proportion of toys sold in Ireland do not conform to EU safety standards, according to a study conducted by the Consumers' Association.
The association said tests it conducted on a sample of toys found that one third did not confirm to safety standards for electrical properties.
