Man charged over Waterford death

A 29-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a 49-year-old Waterford man who was found dead in the early hours of this morning.

The body of the man was discovered at an apartment on Williams St in the city at 5am.

The 29-year-old, who is being held at Ballybricken garda station, has been charged with assault causing harm under Section 3 of the Offences against the State Act.

He is due to appear in court in the morning.
