Candidate plans Fathers' Rights party

An independent Meath by-election candidate plans to set up a fathers’ rights party for the general election of 200.

A 500 to 1000 first preference votes in every constituency for Fathers’ Rights is the target set by Liam Ó Gógáin.

"In the absence of any real attempt by Government to address men's needs for equal treatment, we have come to a juncture whereby it necessitates direct electoral action," Mr Ó Gógáin said.

"By being able to manage blocks of 1000 votes in each constituency next time the Fathers’ Rights Party will have significant influence, through transfers within the PR system, on who forms the next government."
