Unfair Eviction law comes into play today

Tenants living in private rented accommodation are protected against unfair eviction from today.

Under legislation that came into force in September, a landlord cannot evict a tenant who has been renting for six months or more without providing a valid reason.

That initial six-month period has now expired, so any tenant who has been in the same accommodation since September cannot be evicted without good cause.
