Iarnród Éireann planning hourly Dublin-Cork rail service
Iarnród Éireann is reportedly planning to establish an hourly rail service between Dublin and Cork as part of a €270m upgrade of rail services in Kildare.
Reports this morning said the move was included in a 10-year investment package that Transport Minister Martin Cullen is due to bring to Cabinet next month.
The reports said the planned upgrade would double the number of tracks along the Dublin-Cork route in Kildare, where Intercity trains currently compete with suburban services into Heuston station.
