Garda investigator inspects Hariri assassination scene
The Garda chief probing the assassination of Rafik Hariri inspected the Beirut seafront road where the former Lebanese prime minister’s motorcade was blown up on February 14.
Peter Fitzgerald, Ireland’s deputy garda commissioner and the head of the United Nations investigation team, spent half an hour at the bombing site, inspecting the huge crater punched in the street by the blast that hit Hariri’s motorcade, also killing another 16 people.
