Search resumes for missing yachtsman

A full search resumes this morning for an Englishman who was washed overboard his yacht off the coast of Mayo last night.

The man was washed overboard from his 30-foot yacht when it was hit by a wave as it rounded Erris Head.

His 19-year-old son was also on board the vessel. Local emergency services assisted him safely to the shore.

Members of Ballyglass Royal National Lifeboat Institution searched through the night for the missing 50-year-old man.

The pair were on their way to the UK when the incident happened.
