More than 1,500 children and families will visit Barretstown this year, it was announced today, as experts revealed 250,000 new cases of childhood cancer are diagnosed every year.

The charity, which provides a medically-endorsed programme of arts and activities for children with cancer and other serious illnesses, will welcome up to 1,600 children and their families from Ireland and 21 other European countries in 2005.
