Man, 23, charged with murder of Lithuanian

A second man was tonight charged with the murder of a Lithuanian man in the North last month.

A second man was tonight charged with the murder of a Lithuanian man in the North last month.

The 23-year-old was charged by detectives with the murder of migrant worker Giedrius Vainauskas in Dungannon, Co Tyrone, on January 16.

He was also charged with attempting to murder a second man, Dominic Smulski, on the same date.

He is to appear before Dungannon Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.

Mr Vainauskas, 23, was found with stab wounds behind a house where he was lodging at Willow Gardens, Dungannon around 4am on Sunday, January 16. He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

Last week an unemployed teenager was charged with murdering father-of-two Mr Vainauskas and the attempted murder of Mr Smulski.

The 18-year-old was remanded in custody.
