PSNI closes 'most attacked' police station

Today sees the permanent closure of one of the most attacked police stations in the North, at Andersonstown in west Belfast.

The PSNI will vacate the landmark building this afternoon and next month it will be demolished.

Local people have mixed emotions about it, according to SDLP Policing Board member Alex Attwood.

"Many people will remember that police officers were attacked and killed in and around that police station", he said. "Many will see that police station as being a hostile place from whence human rights violations came."
