Gardaí have appealed for information today after the suspicious death of a man on Dublin’s southside.

Detectives from Kilmainham are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the man, from Dolphin’s Barn in the Rialto area of the capital.

The man, who was in his 40s, was taken by ambulance from Dolphin House complex in Dolphin’s Barn to St James’s Hospital at 8pm last night.

It is believed he died from head injuries soon after.

Detectives have appealed to anybody who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area of Dolphin House between 7pm and 8pm to contact Kilmainham Garda Station.

The flat in the Dolphin House complex was immediately sealed off last night.

Officers from the Garda Technical Bureau are carrying out a forensic examination of the scene this morning.
