Live pipe bomb found under van in north Dublin
Bomb disposal experts have defused a live pipe bomb found underneath a van in the Clonshaugh area of north Dublin early this morning.
The device was spotted under the vehicle in Belcamp Crescent at around 1am.
Gardaí quickly sealed off the area and evacuated a number of residents from their homes.
Bomb disposal experts were then called to the scene to defuse the device, which they confirmed was a live pipe bomb.
Residents were allowed back to their homes around three hours later.
Gardaí said they had yet to establish a motive for the incident, but investigations were continuing.
