Taoiseach and Chinese PM to discuss improved trade links
The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is due to meet Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao today as part of a high-level Irish trade mission to the communist nation.
Five cabinet ministers and representatives from more than 200 Irish companies are involved in the five-day mission.
The Government is hoping to use the visit to improve ties with China, one of the world's fastest growing economies, while the businessmen will be hoping to negotiate lucrative partnerships and contracts.
Mr Ahern and Mr Win are due to discuss improved trade during their meeting today, while Enterprise Minister Micheal Martin is due to host talks between Irish software designers and potential Chinese customers and Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan is due to open a food and drink exhibition organised by Bord Bia.
