Man dies in Laois collision between car and truck

A man has died after the car in which he was travelling collided with an articulated truck in Portlaoise, Co Laois, this morning.

The accident happened at Kilminchy, on the Dublin Road, shortly after 5am.

The dead man, whose name has not been released, was a passenger in the rear of the car. The driver and a front-seat passenger were also injured and taken to hospital in Portlaoise.
